SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

…THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHWESTERN WAKULLA COUNTY IS

CANCELLED…

The severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has moved out of

the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

…A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT

FOR SOUTHWESTERN LIBERTY COUNTY…

At 433 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 14 miles east of

Stonemill Creek, or 16 miles south of Blountstown, moving west at 35

mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…

Orange, Estiffanulga, Kern, Wilma, Lewis, Vilas, Jensen Place, Nixon

Garden, Twin Pole, Central City, Red Hill and Clio.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…

Southwestern Collier County in southwestern Florida…

* Until 730 PM EDT.

* At 434 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of heavy showers and

embedded thunderstorms will be moving into the Marco Island area

from the Gulf of Mexico. These showers and thunderstorms will be

training over the area for couple of hours. Rainfall amounts

between 1 to 3 inches are possible with these heavy showers and

thunderstorms during the next couple of hours which could lead to

some minor flooding in the low lying and poorly drainage areas. If

the rainfall amounts increase more than forecasted, then a flash

flood warning may be needed for this area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…

Marco Island, Cape Romano, Marco Island Airport, Royal Palm Hammock

and Key Marco.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you

can do so safely. You can also send flood reports to NWS Miami on

Facebook and Twitter.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding

of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
